A new video by Neue Deutsche Kunst (aka Marc Richter) after „Schleim des Nichtwissens“ (awarded in Oberhausen), presenting a similar world of „enhanced“ creatures that are part human, part snail and part mushroom, often genderless, sometimes multi-gender. The chimeric protagonists are performing useless, pointless, sisyphean tasks, questioning the purpose of their existence. The dreamlike settings challenge the boundaries of reality, identity, and sanity.
This is Richter’s 2nd „pseudo-musical“ short film with songs and lyrics created in collaboration with a so-called Artificial Intelligence. The German language Dada lyrics present a mix of naive Schlager poetry, LSD surrealism and Neue Deutsche Welle/Geniale Dilletanten-influenced absurdity while the music surprises with haunting melodies and weird orchestral arrangements (by both Richter and the AI).
